Lokomotiv started well claiming the opening set with the score of 25-21 but the guests from Italy did not surrender that easily anchored by their setter Dragan Travica. Anyway, Lokomotiv stayed cool and eventually went for the 2:0 after a series of side-outs that was ended by the score of 32-30 for the home side. The third set was also very close and the Italians re-opened the game after another tight final rush (28-30). Outside hitter Lukas Divis and opposite Michael Sanchez got Lokomotiv back on track to finish the game with a 3:1 (25-17).
“It was essential for us to qualify for the Playoffs 12 as first-ranked team” says head coach Andrei Voronkov. “We are happy we have beaten MACERATA which was the only team from the group that we had not edged so far”.
